With a Master’s degree in Dementia Studies from the University of Stirling and over five years dedicated to dementia awareness, my journey into this field is deeply personal.  My ambition is to enhance public awareness, promote proactive care, and build a more informed and compassionate society.

  • For over 18 years, I was a caregiver to my husband, navigating the complexities and challenges of dementia with little awareness or support available at the time.

  • The struggles and shortcomings I encountered during those years ignited my resolve to make a difference.

  • Following my husband’s passing in 2019, I channeled my grief into action by initiating an annual Awareness Walkathon.

  • This event, which started as a tribute to his memory, has grown each year, attracting more participants and spreading awareness about dementia far and wide.

  • Alongside organizing these impactful walkathons, I have delivered engaging talks at medical colleges, Lions Clubs, and ladies' clubs, reaching over 5000 individuals.
  • As a committed member of Lions International and the Dementia International Alliance, and serving as District Chairperson for Mental Health in Lions Club District 317F, I am dedicated to spreading knowledge, encouraging preventive measures, and supporting families affected by dementia.
